  • Woollahra Council is having a “Extraordinary Council meeting” on April 6, 2020 at 5.30 pm.   • The Woollahra Municipal Council Extraordinary Meeting has concluded. Agenda 16.3 has been proposed and a motion has been voted upon,

    • The outcome is that the Agenda item 16.3, only applies decisions relating to only Health and Safety of Council staff and the community. The new powers also have a sunset clause set for September 2020.   • World Ocean Day, Member for Vaucluse, Gabrielle Upton announced the next milestone in the project to close the last three remaining ocean outfalls at Vaucluse and Diamond Bay. The wastewater will be redirected to the Bondi Wastewater Treatment Plant to better protect our beaches and improve our water quality. 

  • The Hon Gabrielle Upton has announced, in a Private Members Statement the allocation of funding to a selection of local community groups and facilities. Among them is RANSA and the Double Bay Sailing Club, mentioned 4:44 of the recorded speech.​​

  • Vaucluse War Memorial has received funding from the NSW Government’s Community War Memorials Fund to conserve it for future generations.

    • Woollahra has a long and rich Aboriginal heritage, and while many traces of that heritage can be found throughout Woollahra, they are often unrecognised or unacknowledged. As part of our Community Strategic Plan, we have engaged Aboriginal heritage consultants to work closely with the La Perouse Local Aboriginal Land Council in undertaking an Aboriginal Heritage Study for the Woollahra Municipality.

  • Cooper Park has been officially listed by The Woollahra Municipal Council as a Local Heritage site.  - 28th September 2020

  • As of the 22nd October 2020, a new ferry route has been annoounced, stopping at Watsons Bay, Rose Bay and Circular Quay.

  • A major road upgrade is on the way for Old South Head Road between Newcastle Street, Rose Bay and O’Sullivan Road, North Bondi.

  • The works will take place between July 20 and July 29 2022, creating a smoother and safer transit experience for all road users.

​Woollahra Council rate rise

  • At its meeting on Monday 1 August, Woollahra Council considered a rate rise for the municipality to fix the current $300,000 debt (quote Tom 0’Hanlon ) which has come down from $6 million. (see agenda Council meeting 8 August 2022 ).

    • ​The rate rise is 10% to kick off and will partly go towards improving recreation facilities, such as the $1.8 million spend on the skatepark.

FSR and Urban Greening Project - Public exhibition commences 10th August 2022

The exhibition period will run from Wednesday 10 August to Friday 16 September 2022.
